Sue Maddox Humphrey

Funeral for Sue Maddox Humphrey, 86, of Hartselle was Tues., Sept. 20, at 3 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ira Laney officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Antioch UMC Cemetery.

Mrs. Humphrey died Sun., Sept. 18, 2016 at Redstone Village. She was born April 8, 1930, in Morgan County to Atticus Golson Maddox and Gladys Breedlove Maddox.  She was a devoted partner to her late husband, Wayne M. Humphrey, in their life together and in their dairy farm equipment business. She was a member of Wayside Garden Club and Country Garden Club and was a homemaker. Mrs. Humphrey taught school at Hatton, Danville and Cotaco. Her family wishes to thank all the caregivers for their compassionate care during the last years of her life.

Mrs. Humphrey is survived by three daughters, Beth Humphrey, Arlington, Va,, Frances Dalrymple of Huntsville and Ellen Kelly of Columbia, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Sarah Hubbell (Karl), Laura Broom, Alexander Broom and Margaret Dalrymple; two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Hubell and William Hubbell.
Pallbearers were Edgar Dalrymple, Jonathan Glazier, Karl Hubble, Alexander Broom, Jerry Brower and Vaughn Moon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association.
