Rev. James A. Shaneyfelt, Sr.

A graveside service for Rev. James A. Shaneyfelt, Sr., 85, of Hartselle will be  Sat., July 23, at 11 a.m. at Lebanon Baptist Cemetery with Bro. A. Ray Lee and the Rev. Randall Ashley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The Rev. Shaneyfelt died Tues., July 19, 2016, at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Ohio to James Buren Shaneyfelt and Altha Lorraine Barkley Shaneyfelt. He was a Southern Baptist Minister for many years in Ohio and in Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lillian Jeanette Shayer Shaneyfelt; and his parents.

He is survived by a son, James A. Shaneyfelt Jr., of California; a daughter, Susan S. Grigsby (Mark) of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Vondale Merritt of Hartselle and Rowena Muth (Russ) of Hartselle; three grandchildren, Hope Grisby and Miriam Grigsby, both of Colorado and Bailey Shaneyfelt of Rockford.
