Funeral for Rita Mae Taylor, 73, of Falkville will be Sat., July 16, at 4 p.m. at Faith Independent Church with the Revs. Dennis Shaddix and Doug Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Her body will lie in state from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.

Burial will be in Bell Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., July 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor died Wed., July 13, 2016, at her residence. She was born Feb. 15, 1943, in Morgan County to Charles Elbert Turney and Martha Lucille Thomas Turney. She was self-employed, as a Seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Taylor; and a grandson, Terry Matthew Crosswhite.

She is survived by a son, Leslie Taylor of Falkville; a daughter, Rita Crosswhite of Falkville; three grandchildren, Kemberly Crosswhite (Steven McAvoy), Kenzie Fox and Shianne Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah McAvoy and Jeremiah McAvoy.

Pallbearers will be Leslie Taylor, Steven McAvoy, Darryl Turney, Jeff Turney, Ray Partain and Jordan Beasley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah McAvoy.
