Murphy O’Shields

Mr. Charles “Murph” O’Shields, 92, of Decatur died Sat., June 18, at his residence. He was born Sept. 23, 1923, in South Carolina to William Thomas O’Shields and Nellie Mae Williams O’Shields. He was a textile engineer throughout is working career, employed with Chemstrand, Monsanto and Solutia before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; William Thomas and Nellie Mae Williams O’Shields. No services are scheduled.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Allan O’Shields of Decatur; a son, Bob O’Shields (Becky) of Decatur; two daughters, Pat O’ Shields of Decatur; and Mary Anne O’Shields of Decatur; two brothers, Sonny O’Shields and Gary O’Shields of Florida; a sister, Martha Patterson of South Carolina; one grandchild, Robbie Prim of Decatur.
