Funeral for Margaret Mooneyham Goree, 88, of Somerville was Thur., June 16, at 2 p.m. at Somerville Baptist Church with Dr. Shane Lewis, Bro. Mark Goree and Chaplain Richard Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.

Mrs. Goree died Mon., June 13, 2016, at her residence. She was born April 3, 1928, in Morgan County to William Thomas Mooneyham and Rosa Leeanna Plemons Mooneyham. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Somerville and a member of Somerville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 66 years, Odell Goree. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley, with special acknowledgements to our nurse, Katie Shell and Hospice aide, Alison Lyle.

She is survived by two sons, Lynn Goree (Royce and Dell Goree (Renee), both of Somerville; three daughters, Connie Murphy (Ronny) of Cullman, Angie Brooks (Ted) of Ardmore and Rosena Chunn (John) of Somerville; a sister, Irene Criner Kelly of Falkville; nine grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Brad Murphy, Ken Goree, Chris Goree, Ethan Patterson, Seth Goree, Taylor Stinnett, Logan Goree, Mark Goree and Kyle Goree.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Somerville Baptist Church or to Hospice of the Valley.
