Alice Ruth “Nana” Hall

Funeral for Alice Ruth Henderson Hall, 87 of Hartselle will be Sat., Oct. 10 at 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with Bro. Harold Thompson and Bro. Marshall Daigre officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Her body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.

A graveside service will be at Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hall died Oct. 8, 2015 at home with her family. She was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Brinkley, Ark., the oldest daughter of the late Charles Frank Henderson and the late Irma Lee Grisham Henderson. Mrs. Hall attended Baptist Memorial Hospital nursing school in Memphis, Tenn. and graduated as a registered nurse. At the onset of her nursing career, she worked in Holly Grove, Ark. for a private practice. She was to later work in hospitals in various cities in Mississippi and Alabama. She was a longtime member of the Hartselle United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles Russell Hall (Linda) of Williamsburg, Ohio and Richard Alan Hall (Emily) of Decatur; a daughter, Nancy Lee Payne of Hartselle; a sister, Marion Louise Parrish of Stuttgart, Ark.; and a daughter-in-law, Jenny Hampton; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; all who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Abner Jasper “Sonny” Hall of Hartselle; brothers, James Frank Henderson of Birmingham and Charles Dalton Henderson of Hartselle; and a sister, Frances Bernice Duckett of Pine Bluff, Ark.

Pallbearers will be Jay Livingston, Evan Livingston, Wes Livingston, Alan Hall, Jason Hooker, Tyler Hall, Hal Daigre and Justin Daigre.

The family would like to express their thanks to Alacare Hospice, especially to Jewell Ann.
