Priceville quarterback Kaleb Barker threw for 292 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 36-14 homecoming win over the Danville Hawks last Friday night.  Barker, who had 213 passing yards in the 1st half, also ran for 100 yards as Priceville moved to 5-0 on the year.

The Danville Hawks who ran for 301 yards as a team, got on the board first as Jacob Morehead ran 50 yards for a touchdown on the 2nd play from scrimmage.  Logan Jaep added the PAT to give the Hawks a 7-0 lead.  Morehead ran for 72 yards on 6 carries before leaving the game in the 2nd period with a lower leg injury.

Priceville then scored touchdowns on three of their next four possessions to take a 20-7 lead with 4:10 left in the 1st half.  The touchdowns all came through the air as Barker connected with Kyle Haynes (6 yards) and Parker Guin (21 and 18 yards) respectively.  Haynes, the son of Bulldog boys basketball coach Darrell Haynes and the lovely Tammy Haynes, had 8 catches for 105 yards while Guin finished with 4 catches for 60 yards.

A 36 yard kick return by Ryan Self gave the Hawks great field position and the Danville offense took advantage, going 46 yards in just 3 plays to cut the Priceville lead to 20-14.  The touchdown came on a 5 yard run by Peyton Colburn.  Colburn ran 11 times for 49 yards.  Unfortunately for the Hawks, it would be the last time that they would score.

Priceville added a touchdown late in the 1st half on a 20 yard Barker to Austin Smith pass to take a 28-14 halftime lead.  Defense dominated the 2nd half with the only points coming on a 26 yard Aaron Cartee run with 3:38 left in the 3rd quarter.

Danville falls to 3-2 with the loss.  The Hawks return to region play Friday night as they travel to Walker County to play the Curry Yellow Jackets.  This will be Danville’s second trip to the “coal capital of North Alabama”.  The Hawks defeated Carbon Hill 35-12 earlier this season.
