The win came on a 24-yard field goal by Ryan Sullivan with seven seconds left, capping a 93-yard drive in 14 plays. Sullivan also rushed for a touchdown and had three passing touchdowns.

Colds Springs held a lead for two quarters before the Blue Devils tied the scored at 37-all in the third quarter. Falkville.

Andy Dove caught two TD passes, Caleb Vinson had a rushing TD and Çaleb Brown and Zack Brown each caught a touchdown pass.

C. Vinson had 18 carries for 140 yards and Sullivan had 110 yards on 18 carries.

“It was a big win for us,” said head coach Joel Schrenk.  “We were able to make some defensive adjustments that helped us in the second half and we were more productive on offense.

“I told the players after the game I love their fire and the fact that they don’t quit,” he stated.  “We found a way to win in the last quarter despite being behind for a big part of the game. Their determination and the way they handled the ball on that last drive was the difference in the game.”

Falkville launched their last drive from their own two-yard line after Devin Reed recovered a Cold Springs fumble. On the ensuing drive, Sullivan got his team out of the hole with a 20-year run and completed a key 10-year pass to C. Vinson. Logan Vinson added a 15-yard run.

The Blue Devils are 4-1 overall and 2-0 in their region.

“If we handle our business going forward, we should be in a position to host the first game in the playoffs.” Schrenk said.

The Blue Devils will face West Morgan’s Rebels Friday with a 7 p.m. kickoff
