Runners and Zombies sought for first annual ‘Zombie Chase’

The Hartselle Lions Club and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce are looking for runners and zombies. The first annual Zombie Chase will be taking place Saturday, September 12 at Sparkman Park. The 5-k run will include 10 obstacles, a 500” slide and lots of mud.

Runners will be not only be trying to make their way through the racecourse, but will also be navigating obstacles and mud. But to add to the fun zombies will chase the runners as they make their way around the designated area. Each runner will have two flags similar to flag football attached to their waist. Each zombie will be chasing the runners trying to remove the flags, or infect the runners before the runners reach the finish line. Runners will still continue the race even if both flags are removed.

Registration for this event can be done online at ative.com. Sign in and late registration begins at 5 p.m. Saturday evening with the run beginning at 7 p.m..

Hartselle Lions and Hartselle Chamber folk’s invite you come on out and have a fun evening on the 12th and help both organizations raise funds that go back into our local community.
