Funeral for Herman Gibson, 86, of Falkville was Mon., Aug. 24, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Stanley Ryan officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Burningtree Cemetery.

Mr. Gibson died Fri., Aug. 21, 2015, at his residence. He was born on Oct. 30, 1929, in Morgan County to Elton Clellie Gibson and Dollie Kilpatrick Gibson. He retired from Copeland Corporation and was a member of the Falkville Church of Christ. He was a devoted husband, loving father, a giving friend, son and brother. He loved the Lord and helping others. He especially enjoyed helping older people.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Adelle Harrison Gibson, a daughter; Gail Gibson Howard (Wayne) of Hartselle; a son, Sherrill Lavon Gibson of Falkville; a brother, William Howard Gibson (Helen) of Priceville; four grandchildren; Melina Howard Stafford, Tracy Randolph, Jonathan Henderson and Sonya Gibson; and 10 great-grandchildren

Pallbearers were Danny Stidham, David Holmes, Steve McClellan, Greg Johnson, Jimmy Moody and Jerry Moody

The family wishes to thank all those that have helped and visited during this difficult time. A special thank you to the church family of Falkville Church of Christ, Floyd and Grace Bradford, JC and Margaret Dunaway and ALACARE.
