Funeral for Bennet “Snookie” Smith, 65, of Somerville will be Fri., Aug. 21, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Somerville City Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Sat., Aug. 15, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Parkway Medical Center. He was born April 29, 1950, in Mississippi to James Clifton Smith and Iva Ophelia Maines Smith. He was a truck driver for Stock Transport in Lebanon, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joshua Smith; a daughter, Melanie Smith; a brother, Kenneth Smith; a sister, Helen Hulin; and three grandsons, Devin Pelton, Dillon D. Pelton and Gregory Roman.

He is survived by his wife, Karen W Smith; two sons, James McCullough and Jonathan Harless; two daughters, Neta McCullough and Angela Faye Pelton; two brothers, Don Smith and Joe Smith; and a sister, Becky Smith Boutte.

Pallbearers will be family members.
