An Alaskan adventure

 

A group of 84 people took a land and sea trip to Alaska July 20- Aug. 1 along with Adventures Unlimited Travel owners Fred and Sandra Smith during their 14th excursion to the “Last Great Frontier.”

Locals enjoy sights, scenery during recent Alaskan cruise

Fred and Sandra Smith recently returned from their 14th Land & Cruise Tour of Alaska, “The Last Great Frontier.”

The Smith’s who own Adventures Unlimited Travel served as guides and trip advisors to 84 other folks during the 12-day excursion. The group of 86 departed Hartselle on July 21 and returned on August 1.

The group enjoyed a motor coach tour of Denali National Park which included seeing moose, black and grizzly bears. They also toured Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, and Seward during the land tour part of the trip.

The cruise segment of the adventure departed from Seward and cruised the Hubbard Glacier, sailed into Juneau where whale-watching tours were available. Skagway was the next port of call and a tour of the Yukon was available or bus or bus and rail.

The cruise also stopped in Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan and cruised the Inside Passage before arriving in Vancouver, British Columbia. The group flew out of Seattle on their return trip back to Hartselle.
