Funeral for James Wallace “Jim” Glasgow, 80, of Hartselle will be Sun., Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Ray Halbrooks and Bro. Jimmy Bassham officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sun., Aug. 16, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Glasgow died Sun., Aug. 9, 2015, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born May 1, 1935, in Morgan County to James Parks Glasgow and Dessie Wallace Glasgow. He was self-employed as a real estate developer and was a graduate of Morgan County High School and Athens State College. He served on the Hartselle City Council from 1988 until 1996. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. For many years, he was a member of Forest Chapel United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church of Hartselle. He served his country in the Army National Guard of Alabama. He coached Hartselle Babe Ruth baseball teams. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Louise Glasgow.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Jean Owen Glasgow of Hartselle; a son, James Arthur Glasgow (Anne) of Hartselle; and two granddaughters, Alice Anne Glasgow and Katie Elizabeth Glasgow, both of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Helms, Larry Dunlap, Eddie Preuitt, Gary Orr, Kevin Corum and Reggie Corum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Corum, Jim Preuitt, Euel James, Buddy Brown, Joe Ed Tankersley, Sam Gugliotta and the McDonald’s Coffee Group.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle, Good Samaritan Fund.
