Morgan County pair arrested on multiple drug charges

A Morgan County man and woman were arrested  Fri., June 26, on multiple drug charges.

Blaine Rex Childers, 23, of 68 First Road, was located at his residence when Morgan County Drug Taks Force agents and Alabama Pardons and Parole Board officers served an arrest

warrant for probation violations. Agents had also received information related to a meth dumpsite that had been found on Natural Bridge Road  June 22.

In the home, officers observed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in plain view. They also came in contact with Rebecca Sharon Johnsen, 22. After obtaining a search warrant from Judge Jeniffer Howell, agents searched the home and found acid, lye, empty cold medicine boxes, funnels, coffee filters, receipts for fuel, a hydrogen chloride gas generator and a bottle that had contained a meth lab.

Childers and Johnsen were both arrested on charges of unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance first degree, unlawful possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Childers is also currently on state probation for unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance first degree.

Both suspects were taken to the Morgan County Jail. Childers’ bond was set at $755,000, and Johnsen’s bond was set at $505,000.
