Funeral for Earlene Harvey Morris, 100, of Massey was Sat., June 13, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Houston officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Herring Cemetery.

Mrs. Morris died Thur., June 11, 2015, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 13, 1914, in Morgan County to Johnnie Harvey and Bertha Hogan Harvey and lived in Massey all of her life.

Mrs. Morris was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church for almost 89 years. She taught Sunday school and was active in UMW for many years. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and grew both vegetables and flowers until she was 98 years old. She was a member of the 1933 graduating class and finally received her high school diploma, when she walked with the Falkville High School graduating class of 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Thurman Lewis Morris; her parents; a son, Robert Lewis Morris; an infant daughter, Betty Joyce; two sisters, Gertrude Penn and Laverne Hart; and an infant great-grandson.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Shelby Morris of Decatur; granddaughter, Jena Morris Simpson (Dr. Jimmy Simpson) of Massey; great-granddaughter, Jessica Marie Hughey; a niece, Jane Reeder; and two nephews, Carl Penn and John Hart.

Pallbearers were John Hart, Carl Penn, Mitch Roberts, Frank Garrison, Jimmy Simpson and Jason Houston.

Honorary pallbearers were Russell Reeder and Milford Fields.
