HHS announces graduation plan in case of rain

The National Weather Service is expecting a good possibility of rain on Monday for graduation.

Graduation exercises are planned at J.P. Cain Stadium that accommodates 5,000 visitors. In case of rain, the exercises would be held in the HHS gym that only accommodates 2,700.

The school will make a decision no later than Monday morning regarding the location.

In the case of uncertain weather conditions, each graduate will be given eight tickets to the main gym that they will receive at graduation practice.

Other guests, will watch graduation via live remote in the auditorium. It will also be broadcast live via the Internet.

If moved indoors, the senior picnic will be at the school at noon and mandatory graduation practice for graduates will be at 1 p.m.

In addition to limited seating, there could also be issues with parking at the high school. The school asks everyone to please carpool together as much as possible. The school doors will be open to guests at 5 p.m. for first come, first served seating. No saving of seats will be permitted.

At either locale, graduation exercises will begin at 7 p.m. and graduates are to be at their assigned location by 5:45 for pictures.
