Funeral for Grace Garnett Clemons, 98, of Orlando, formerly of Hartselle, will be Sat., May 2, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe and Rev. Terry Nappier officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., May 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clemons died Wed., April 29, 2015, at Manor Care Assisted Living in Winter Park, Fla. She was born Feb. 10, 1917, the only daughter, to the late Jabez Madison Garnett and Jennie Lind McDaniel Garnett. Mrs. Clemons was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, who always put God and family first. She was a charter member of Southwest Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 27 years. She was famous for her handmade quilts, chicken and dumplings, home canned green beans and fried pies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clemons; her daughter, Gayle Burch; her son, Larry Clemons; four sons-in-law, John Burch, J.D. Kent, Glen Tapscott and Ted Greggs; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and four brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Jean Kent of Hartselle, Joni James (Edward) of Orlando, Fla. and Linda Tapscott-Greggs of Orlando, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Linda Clemons of Hartselle; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
