Jada Hayes had 11 strikeouts, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Hewitt-Trussville in the Bob Jones Tournament Saturday.

She allowed one earned run on four hits with no walks. Hayes, Hannah Jenkins and Bailey Powell had the only hits for Hartselle.

HHS 3, Lebanon (Tenn.) 1

Jenkins was 2-for-3  while Powell and Riley Corum had doubles to lead the Lady Tigers over Lebanon Saturday in the Bob Jones Tournament.

Hayes had the only other hit.

Hope Cain struck out six while allowing one run on four hits and one walk in five innings of action.

Brighton (Tenn.) 1

Cain struck out seven while allowing one run on four hits and one walk during six innings at Bob Jones Thursday.

Jenkins and Kaitlyn Spangler added doubles while Makayla Hayes, Taylor Wascavage, Powell, Mary Jane Wooley and Corum added hits.

Wooley and Jenkins had two RBIs each.

HHS 10, Decatur 0

Wascavage hit a pair of home runs to lead Hartselle past Decatur March 31 in an area game.

Cain was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs and a triple. Hayes and Powell added doubles while Sara Faulk, Ali Forth, Hayes and Sydney Crow collected hits.

Cain earned the win, striking out 11 while allowing one hit in six innings of work.
