Funeral for Betty Allen Thompson, 87, of Valhermoso Springs will be Sun., March 22, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro.Tim Patrick and Bro. Melvin Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.The body will lie in state from 1- 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Thompson died Thurs., March 19, 2015, at her residence with her family at her side. She was born April 20, 1927, in Washington, D.C. to Albert Frank Allen and Pearl Allen. Mrs. Thompson will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who’s greatest passion was helping others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Nathan Thompson; three sons, Courtney B. Diamond, Larry Thompson and David Thompson; a brother, Frank Albert Allen; and one sister, Mary Jacobs.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Nathan Thompson and Rickey Thompson, both of Valhermoso Springs; two daughters, Donna Jean Roberts and Wanda Carol Thompson, both of Somerville; a brother, Earl Allen of Virginia; a sister, Jean Bruno of Illinois; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
