William G. ‘Bill’ Maze Jr.

A celebration of life for William G. ‘Bill’ Maze Jr., 72, of Hartselle will be Wed., March 4, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Sparks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.

Mr. Maze died Sun., March 1, 2015. He was born July 20, 1942, in Decatur to William Garland (Pete) Maze Sr. and Mary Jane O’linger Maze. He worked as a pipe fitter for many years at Brown’s Ferry Nuclear Plant, Belfonte Nuclear Plant and Todd’s Shipyard in Houston, Texas. After retiring, he operated the Wavaho Station at Flint. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons and he loved Alabama football. It was hard to find him when he wasn’t sporting an Alabama Cap. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their love and support.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia White Maze four sons, Tracy Maze (Angie) of Priceville, David Maze(Amy) of Trinity, John Patrick Maze (Tracy) of Decatur and Ronald Maze (Yuvette) of Hornlake, Miss.; three sisters, Bessie Maze Webb of Albertville, Marilyn Maze Copeland (Hoyt) of Moulton and Becky Maze Simpson (Raymond) of Southside; his grandchildren; Tiffany Maze Cook (Daniel), Matt Maze (fiancé Kasey Davis), Cameron Maze, Jennifer Maze Brewster (Eric), Lauren Maze and Ronald Maze (Tara); 10 great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Matt Maze, Cameron Maze, Chad Copeland, Chris Copeland, Joe White and Daniel Cook.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Allen and John Porch.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Hospice of the Valley or to a charity of your choice.
