Funeral for Jean Goad Smith, 90, of Hartselle was Sun., Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Shaddix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith ended her earthly journey Fri., Feb. 20, 2015. She resided at NHC Healthcare. She was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Lauderdale County to Thomas Joel Goad and Edna Miller Goad. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle and was formerly employed by Bethea International as a transportation manager. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Rudolph Smith; and a grandson, Patrick Jordan Smith.

She is survived by three sons, Fred Smith (Sandra) and Jim Smith (Lou), both of Hartselle, and Tom Smith (Sue) of Town Creek; six grandchildren, Thomas Smith, Lori Pace, Steven Smith, Leah Turner, Mark Smith and Leslie Smith; nine great-grandchildren, Wesley Smith, Jack Smith, Clay Pace, Julia Pace, William Turner, Sam Turner, Andrew Smith, LeAnn Smith and Gloria Smith; and a niece, Bonnie McCrary of Huntsville.

Pallbearers were Thomas Smith, Wesley Smith, Jack Smith, Randy Pace, Clay Pace, Mark Smith, Steven Smith and Gary Turner.

The family would like to express special thanks to Jan Holt for her special loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Hartselle Building Fund.
