Funeral for Clarence Cleo Alexander, 87, Eva was Fri., Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. at Eva United Methodist Church with Bro. Bill Stone and Bro. Al Dean officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state, at the church, for one hour prior to the service.
Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery at Eva.
Mr. Alexander died Tues., Feb. 10, 2015, at his residence. He was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Morgan County to Samuel Clarence Alexander and Pearlie Mae Tomlin Alexander. Mr. Alexander retired in 1987 from D.E.C.A.S. in Huntsville, where he was a Quality Engineer. He also worked for NASA, as a Contract Engineer. He was a member of Eva United Methodist Church and served on the Eva City Council for 16 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and served on the USS South Dakota. He was preceded by two sons, Danny Alexander and Sgt. Allon Alexander; and his parents; two brothers, Euell and Charlie Alexander; and two sisters, Lovie Roberts and Clarrene Brown.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to Eva United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 5, Eva, Al. 35621
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marigurette L. Alexander of Eva; a son, Ricky Alexander of Eva; a brother, Hollis Alexander of Eva; two sisters, Jewell Nelson of Eva and Audrey Holmes of Hueytown; and three grandsons, Shane, Austin and Nathan Alexander.
Pallbearers were Sammy Nelson, Stanley Nelson, Ronnie Alexander, Tim Alexander, Johnnie Brown and Shane Alexander.
Honorary pallbearers were Austin Alexander and Nathan Alexander.
