Three facing drug charges in Hartselle

Three people are in jail after a caller observed a vehicle toss a one-pot meth lab out of its window along Kayo Road Wed., Feb. 4.

Nathan Hayes, 38, of 2232 Indian Hills Road Lot C was arrested and charged with the unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance 1st degree – methamphetamine, unlawful possession of felony drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. His bond was set at $352,500.

Carmella Booth, 30, was arrested and charged with the unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance 1st degree – methamphetamine, unlawful possession of felony drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. Her bond was set at $352,500.

Jody Allen Hayes of 2232 Indian Hills Road Lot C was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing 2nd degree- methamphetamine, unlawful possession of felony drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a synthetic controlled substance or analog – synthetic canabanoids – spice. Her bond was set at $102,500.

On Wed., Feb. 4, at 9:30 p.m., agents executed a narcotics search warrant at 2232 Indian Hills Road Lot C. in Hartselle. Agents had received a complaint earlier in the day concerning a meth lab that had been thrown from a vehicle on Burleson Mountain Road.

A deputy arrived on scene confirming contents of bag to be a one-pot meth lab and other equipment and chemical components.

Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents obtained a search warrant for the residence. Agents located a gram of methamphetamine on Nathan Hayes, who also found had outstanding warrants with Lawrence County.

Jody Hayes was in possession of synthetic canabanoids, otherwise known as spice.

Booth was in possession of one-half of a gram of methamphetamine.

During investigation it was learned that Nathan Hayes had purchased cold pills containing pseudoephedrine Feb. 4 just after 8 a.m. Carmella Booth and Jody Allen Hayes both stated that in the past they had purchased cold pills containing pseudoephedrine and had given them to Mr. Hayes.

Agents also located drug paraphernalia containing methamphetamine in the residence.
