Man caught with meth during traffic stop
A man is drug charges after Hartselle Police discovered methamphetamine residue in his car during a traffic stop Feb. 3.

Michael Charles Zehler, 38, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He was transported to the Morgan County Jail with a bond of $2,500.
Hartselle Police officers made contact with the driver after he was stopped for a traffic violation on U.S. 31 in Hartselle. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, officers discovered a set of digital scales on which had crystal-like substance residue that was determined to be meth.
Morgan County Drug Task Force agents searched the vehicle with a Morgan County K-9 unit. The K-9 indicated for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
Agents continued the search of the vehicle and discovered several grams of methamphetamine.
