Morgan’s Collins to chair committee
State Representative Terri Collins, R-Decatur, is one of six Tennessee Valley legislators selected by House Speaker Mike Hubbard to chair prominent House committees during the 2014-2018 quadrennium.
She will serve as chairwoman of the Education Policy Committee.
The other House Committee chair appointees were: Rep. Mac McCutcheon, R-Capshaw, Rules; Rep. Lynn Greer, R-Rogersville, Transportation, Utilities and Infrastructure; Rep. Phil Williams, R-Monrovia, Technology and Research; Rep Howard Sanderford, R. Huntsville, Boards, Agencies and Commissions; and Rep Mike Ball, R-Madison, Ethics and Campaign Finance.
“We’ve made tremendous strides over the past four years towards improving education, growing the economy and protecting the rights and values that Alabamians hold dear,” Hubbard said, “I am confident that this group of legislators will continue to lead our fight and move Alabama forward. The backgrounds, talents and proven leadership of each of these individuals makes them uniquely qualified to fill these posts, and I look forward to working with them over the next four years.”
