Funeral for Doris Maxine Thrasher, 88, of Hartselle will be Thur., Jan. 15, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Gilbert officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thur., Jan. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thrasher died Tues., Jan. 13, 2015, at her residence. She was born April 29, 1926, in Indiana to Gustav Fredrick Schuette and Lucille Irene Godwin Schuette. She was a member of Cedar Plains Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a registered nurse and was employed by the U.S. Post Office, where she was the first female mail carrier in Hartselle. She loved to garden, travel and do crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ford Thrasher; a son, Robert Glenn Thrasher; a brother, George William Schuette; and her parents.

She is survived by a son, Lynn Thrasher (Valerie) of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Tina Shelton (Weston) of Hartselle and Clint Thrasher (Brandy) of Cullman; two great-grandchildren, Emma Thrasher and Mason Thrasher.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
