‘Night of Bands’ slated Saturday

The 12th annual Morgan County Night of Bands will feature the performances of nine high school bands on Sat., Sept. 13, at Tucker Football Stadium.

The popular event will begin at 6 p.m. with the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy band playing the National Anthem.

Other bands on the program include Falkville, Danville, Priceville, West Morgan, Ardmore, Hartselle, Austin and Brewer.

UNA’s Pride of Dixie Band will be featured in a 9 p.m. performance.

“Each high school band will perform the show it has prepared for its halftime performance at football games,” said Doug Farris, Brewer band director. “Judges will evaluate each performance and make comments, but class winners will not be designated.”

He said a different band would perform every 20 minutes.

Admission is $5 per person.

“Tickets will be sold by each participating band. and the money will go back to the band,” Farris said. “Brewer will retain the money from tickets sold at the gate.”

Brewer Band Boosters will operate concessions and handle other tasks.
