Douglas F. Powell

Funeral for Douglas F. Powell, 68, of Decatur, will be Sat., Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at Cullman Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Jim Abbott officiating and Cullman Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Powell died Sept. 11, 2013, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1945, to Lemon Rose and Emma Lankford Powell. Mr. Powell worked for Buchanan Construction as a pole setter and cable layer. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, J.W., Winnon, Bob and Herbert; three sisters, Mazel, Dorthula and Abagail.

He is survived by two brothers, E.C. Powell and wife Sandie of Crown Point, Ind., Larry Powell and wife Pat of Falkville; and sister, Dorothy Powell of Fla.; and friend Linda Holmes of Falkville.
