Lady Tigers go 3-4 in tourney

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers won three matches and lot three while competing in the Huntsville Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers improved their record to 11-8 overall and 2-0 in area games.

Hartselle defeated Grissom, 19-25, 25-22, 15-12; Arab, 25-1,m 15-13; and Guntersville, 25-18, 25-22. The lost to Mountain Brook, 19-25, 22-25; Centennial, 25-21,15-25. 8-15; Huntsville, 21-25, 25-16, 7-15; and Sparkman 19-15, 25-27. 15-25.

Hartselle was led by Haley Jared who had 43 kills, 10 blocks, 37 digs and four aces. Taylor Lybarger had 36 kills, 48 digs, six blocks and four aces.

Megan Zuck had 16 kills and six blocks, Melissa-Paul Hill scored 112 assists and 29 digs; Sarah Ellen Battles had 66 digs and seven assists; Katy Beth Boles had nine kills and 11 blocks; and Bailey Powell had 27 kills and five blocks.
