Oct. 25

Hartselle City Schools will issue report cards Oct. 25.

The Hartselle High School drama class will perform “Taster’s Choice” at the Hartselle Fine Arts Center on Thur., Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5.

The Hartselle Board of Education will have a work session and its regular monthly meeting Oct. 25, at 5:30 p.m. at the central office.

The Adult Diabetes Support Group at Cullman Regional Medical Center will meet on Thur., Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. This group is led by Certified Diabetes Educators, Lisa Ellard, CRNP, CDE and Kim Addison, RD, CDE who have been assisting diabetic patients for more than 20 years. This group meets traditionally on the fourth Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted, at 6 p.m. in CRMC’s Ave Maria Room in Professional Office Building 2, Community Education Center – 1912 AL Highway 157, POB 2, Cullman, AL 35058.

The Priceville Town Council will meet the second and fourth Thursdays at 7 p.m. Contact the town clerk Kelly Dean at kellydean@townofpriceville.com if you have an issue to be considered for the council’s meeting agenda.

Chamber Pumpkin Carving Contest will have its people’s choice voting Oct. 25-29.

Oct. 26

Barkley Bridge will be collecting canned food and non-perishable boxed food for Hartselle’s Day of Caring through Oct. 26.  Food will be distributed to the Caring Place and to food pantries at local churches.

Mature Life, Parkway and Hartselle campus members, will have their Breakfast Club Oct. 26 at 8:30 a.m. at Cracker Barrel in Decatur.

Oct. 27

The 15th annual Falkville Fall Festival will be held on the streets of Falkville on Sat., Oct. 27. It will begin with a Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m. sponsored by the Falkville Volunteer Fire Department. The Festival features an antique tractor show, car show and free entertainment. We are proud to announce this year’s music will be provided by The Dusty Winsett Band and Doug Stone/Kevin Denny. There will also be a wide assortment of arts and crafts, food vendors, bingo and other activities for the young and young at heart. Please join us at this family oriented event.

The Princess Theatre in Decatur will be celebrating Halloween with a one time only showing of the 1980 cult horror classic “Friday the 13th” on Sat., Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. In this film, a nightmarish world of blood and terror is unleashed from an ancient curse. A harrowing film of suspense and horror, twisted teenager, Jason, returns from the bottom of a lake to violently stalk and murder everyone at a quiet summer camp. Rated R. Tickets: $5.

LifeSouth Community Blood Center in the Morgan county area will have a bloodmobile at the Falkville Fall Festival Sat., Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. – 2 pm. All donors will receive their choice of an Alabama or Auburn T-shirt and additional coupons.

Brewer will host the inaugural Bulls and Barrels Bash on Sat., Oct. 27, beginning at 8 a.m. A Queen’s Contest will be held at 9:30 a.m.  Concessions will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Junior  (18 and under) bulls, steers and barrel racing competitions will begina at 4 p.m. A concert featuring Kassie MIller will follow the bash. Admission $10; 10 and under, $5 and preschoolers free.

The Magic Valley Chapter of the Train Collectors Association wlll host a meeting and show featuring operating layouts on Sat., Oct. 27, at the Huntsville Jaycee Building off of Airport Road in Huntsville. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Call 256-881-1661 for additional information.

The CRMC’s second annual Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk will be Sat., Oct. 27. Registration begins at 7 a.m. in the in the main lobby of the Cullman Wellness & Aquatics Center. Registration fees are $25 for individuals and $30 on the day of the race. Proceeds from the event benefit the CRMC Wellness Team and the City of Cullman Parks & Recreation Foundation.

Rummage Sale deadline:  The semi-annual rummage sale will be Nov. 2-3 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day.  Booth rental is $20 per space.  You must attend both days.  Please register and pay no later than Oct. 29.

The Hartselle Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon at Sedona Steakhouse.

The Town of Falkville will have a retirement reception for Mayor Jimmie Walker at Cadence Bank NA in Falkville Tues., Oct. 30, from 1-2 p.m.

Hartselle High School will have its National Honor Society Induction on Tues., Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Church of Christ.

Hartselle Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday of the month at noon at Sedona Steakhouse.

Barkley Bridge Elementary School will begin its Book Fair Nov. 2.

Amy George will visit the Hartselle Public Library on Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. for a discussion on breast cancer. She will be discussing the differences of “sporadic” and “hereditary” cancer, risk factors and genetic testing. She is with the Clearview Cancer Institute. She will also have additional resources for attendees.
