Priceville voters will have another opportunity to reject or approve the sale and distribution of alcohol beverages within the town’s limits on Tues., Nov. 6., the same date as the General Election.

The town council adopted a resolution calling for the special referendum at its regular meeting on Sept. 14. The move was made after City Clerk Kelly Dean affirmed the signatures of 200 petitioners.

The signatures of 191 qualified electors was the minimum required under state law to allow the question to be put before voters. It was last voted on in November 2010, when those voting no on the issue defeated those voting yes by only four votes.

Dean said she was in the processing of ordering ballots for the election from a printing company on Monday. She pointed out that the election will be held at the same voting center as the General Election, but it will be handled separately by different election officials.

The council acted on other matters as follows:

• Approved $125 registration (per person) and other travel expenses for the Mayor and Town Council to attend the 2012 Orientation Conference for Elected Officials and Municipal Personnel in Huntsville on Nov. 15.

• Passed a resolution declaring a house at 1853 Hwy. 67, S, Somerville, as being unsafe to the extent of being a public nuisance and to order the demolition of the building.

• Approved $250 for a class sponsorship in the 22nd Annual Alabama Charity Championship Horse Show benefiting the Junior League of Morgan County Children’s Charities Oct. 10-13, 2012.

• Approved $150 for two advertisements in the Redstone Rocket honoring our military heroes on Veterans Day and season’s greeting to our troops.

• Passed a resolution declaring the property at 50 Willowbrook St. as surplus and selling the building with removal to Priceville Contractors Inc.

• Passes a resolution for a 20 percent local match for participation in the Alabama Department of Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP).

•Approved $2,110 for a concrete pad to be poured at the Maintenance/Fire Building on Bethel Road for an EMA animal trailer.
