They scored three more times during the final 2:45 in the first half. Clemons bulled his way into the end zone from eight and nine yards out and Bell scored his second TD on a 55-yard pass from Barker. He also kicked all three extra points.
Priceville’s backup players unit got off to a slow start in the second half but finished with a flourish.
Pope John Paul’s only score came with 9:09 left in the third quarter. It resulted from Thomas Weaver’s 50-yead run up the middle. Ryan Soprano booted the extra point to make the score 28-7.
The Bulldogs answered by scoring twice in the final quarter.
Strazelle Jiminez scored on a 24-yard run with 4:37 left in the game, capping a drive that covered 80 yards in eight plays. Back up kicker Peyton Morris converted the extra point.
On the last play of the game, Eli Cole scored on a 42-yard pass from backup quarterback Luke Mason. Morris kicked the extra point.
