Funeral for Rebecca “Becky” Marie Byrd, 56, of Decatur will be Thur., Aug. 23, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Thur., Aug. 23, from noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Byrd died Mon., Aug. 20, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 14, 1956, in Michigan to Clinton Jerol Byrd and Mary Marie Busbey Byrd. Ms. Byrd was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Decatur. She was a retired nurse that worked for Decatur General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by a daughter, Christy Byrd Sheats and husband Jason of Houston, Texas; her mother, Mary Marie Busbey Byrd of Decatur; two sisters, Sheila Mooney and Marshall Kim of Decatur and Rosa Segars and husband Joe of Hartselle; two surviving grandchildren, Taylor Sheats and Madison Sheats; and precious dear lifelong friends, Denise and Forrest Keith and Rodney Lazenby.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Fund for Becky Byrd at PNC Bank of Decatur.
