Youth baseball gets $3,000 for new entry sign
The City of Hartselle accepted a $3,000 community service grant, provided by State Rep. Ed Henry, R-Hartselle, to pay for a new entry way sign into the Hartselle Youth Baseball fields.
Frank Miller, park and recreation director, said he hopes the sign will be ready in time for the Dixie Youth AA Region II World Series, scheduled for July 20-24.
The sign will feature two bricked columns with a rod-iron arch placed atop the two columns.
City attorney Larry Madison said the Hartselle City Council had to declare that these funds will be used for public purpose before they could be given to the youth baseball association, which is a private entity.
