Richard savors Bama’s 1st NCAA softball title
Highlights of Richard’s freshman year included getting playing time as a reserve infielder and pinch runner. She started three games at third base when the regular starter suffered an injury and was used as a pinch runner a number of times.
It was her run in a 4-3 super regional win over Michigan that sent Alabama to the Women’s College World Series.
“I was blessed,” she stated. “I’m very glad to be there.”
Richard said her summer schedule calls for spending a lot of time working out and improving her hitting and fielding skills, in addition to playing some pickup games.
She said she hopes to earn more playing time at third base next season.
