George B. Henry

Funeral for George B. Henry, 81, of Somerville was Sun., June 10, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jacob Daugette officiating.

Burial was in West Point Cemetery in Somerville.

Mr. Henry died Fri., June 8, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1930, in Morgan County to George H. Henry and Pattie Mae Smallwood Henry. He was a Baptist and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by a son, George Dewayne Henry of Somerville; three daughters, Shirley Mayes of Somerville, Brenda Jean Thurman of Union Grove and Sharron Evan Ridge of Arab; two brothers, Hoyd Henry and John Henry, both of Somerville; a sister, Cathaline Lorance of Somerville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and special friends Elaine McCaleb and the Johnson family.

Friends and family members were pallbearers.
