Churches celebrate homecoming

I hope everyone has been enjoying the nice weather, warm days and cool nights. The kids are out of school and enjoying their summer break.

Prayers and sympathy go out to the family and friends of George B. Henry who passed away at the home of his daughter, Shirley, on Friday morning, June 8. Shirley has been taking care of her dad since his illness last year.

Much love and prayers continue to go out for Devin Grady, his parents, Brad and Angela and his older brother. Devin is in Huntsville Hspi0tal where he has been since a recent accident. A fund has been set up for him to help with medical bills. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Bobby Lang who passed away recently.

Somerville Assembly hosted a homecoming service on Sun., June 3, A wonderful service, good food and fellowship were enjoyed by all who attended. Members expressed thanks for being able to celebrate a year of worship services. Pastor Jacob Daugette and members invite those without a church home to come visit them as prospective members. Sunday school is held at 10 a.m. and worship services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Football workouts are under way at Brewer High School. Players and the community are very pleased to have Dan Styles as the new head football coach. Everyone is looking forward to a winning season in 2012.

Happy belated birthday wishes go out to my cousin, Joseph Collins.

Get well wishes go out to Donna and Darrell Orr and Jean Wallace.

Homecoming services were conducted at Somerville Christian Church Sun., June 3.

A big hello goes out to Faye Anders, Nell Harrison, Sara Jane Shull, Elisle Kipple Culbreath, Frank and Martha Gravatt, W. D. Wray and Colleen Moore.

Much love goes out to Atlas and Jean Howard.
