Funeral for Lequata Bennett Rutherford, 63, of Somerville will be Fri., June 8, at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Cove Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lawrence Cove Cemetery.

Mrs. Rutherford died Wed., June 6, 2012, at Whitesburg Gardens Health Care Center. She was born Sept.15, 1948, in Kentucky to Benton Eugene Bennett and Edith Irene Davis Bennett. She was a member of Lawrence Cove Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother, nanny and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Pete Bennett.

She is survived by two sons, Edward Rutherford and George Rutherford; a daughter, Lee Owen of Somerville; three brothers, Wayne Bennett, Benny Bennett and Dennis Bennett; three sisters, Shirley Livingston, Mary Jane Rickle and Debbie Davis; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bennett, Lee Bennett, Conrad Bennett, Monte Wayne Bennett, Marty Bennett and Michael Bennett.
