Funeral for Harvie Steele, 70, of Addison was Sun., June 3, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Wood officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery in Speake.

Mr. Steele died on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at his residence. He was born Jan. 1, 1942, in Lawrence County to Floyd Steele and Clearence Sellers Steele. Mr. Steele was a former employee of Sonoco Products as a machine operator. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Steele of Addison, two sons, Terry Steele and wife Shirley of Danville and Mark Steele of Addison; six brothers, Arie Steele of Danville, Robert Steele of Addison and Sam Steele, Daltan “Shorty” Steele, Pervie Steele and R.V. “Buddy” Steele, all of Hartselle; five sisters, Stella King of Hartselle; Nadine Carter of Georgia, Sarah Highthorne of Falkville and Elizebeth Johnson and Maxcine Johnson, both of Addison; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren,

Pallbearers were family and friends.
