Bethel students in fine arts competition

Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., recently hosted the American Association of Christian Schools National Fine Arts Competition in which more than 2,000 students participated. Bethel Baptist School had four students compete. Megan Matthews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Matthews, placed third in the Nation in Female Vocal Solo. Megan and her brother, William, were in the top six in the nation in the Speech category of Duet Acting.

Other students competing from Bethel Baptist School were Cassie Bunner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bunner, and Cole Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Butch Schmidt.

Fine Arts teachers are Mrs. Renee Gamble, Mrs. Candy Bunner, and Miss Jennifer Canedy. Fine Arts Competition is coordinated by Mrs. Martha Loney.
