HHS boys clinch playoff berth

Hartselle’s boys soccer team clinched a playoff spot Thursday night with a 1-0 win against Walker.
The game was still scoreless with 5 minutes left to play, when Giber Gonzalez made a run through the midfield into Walker’s penalty box and buried the goal with his left foot. The team is now 6-1 in section play.
Both boys and girls soccer teams will play Cullman for the Section 7 championship Monday night at J.P. Cain Stadium. Boys play at 5:30 p.m., and girls play at 7 p.m.
