Census includes city in MPO

The U.S. Census Bureau has included Hartselle in the Decatur Metropolitan Area, according to 2010 Census figures.
Mayor Dwight Tankersley said he worked with Census officials to make sure Hartselle was included this time to help the city and area qualify for more federal funding.
“The MPO increased by 18,000 from 2000,” Tankersley said. “That’s important to help us get more funding.”
