I-65 work to continues after reopening
Alabama Department of Transportation officials reopened a section of I-65 northbound from Hartselle to Priceville Thursday afternoon, but the work is not yet complete.
Rebecca Leigh White with the Media & Community Relations Bureau of ALDOT said in an email that 3,000 additional feet of road that will need resurfacing, which will result in intermittent single-lane closures. The contractor has until April 27 to complete all of the repairs.
The contract for the work is for $2.092 million not counting $100,000 per day incentive for finishing early. ALDOT is still is calculating the final total.
