ARC to sponsor activity for kids

The 20th Annual “Kids on the Block” Chocolate & Dessert Festival will be held Sun., Feb. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Decatur Mall. Seventeen local restaurants will spotlight their specialty desserts and provide samples for festival goers. The entries will be judged by State Representative Terri Collins, R-Decatur, and Decatur Police Chief Ed Taylor.

The Alabama Blues Brothers will emcee the event and also perform. Other entertainment will feature Dorothy Cole and the Tina Turner Revue and the legendary T. Graham Brown.

Individual door prices will be given away during the event and a grand prize weekend Getaway for two will be awarded at the end of the event. You must be present to win.

All proceeds benefit The Arc of Morgan County in “creating a better world for people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Tickets are available at the Decatur Mall service desk, or may be purchased at the gate. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $3 for children 6-12 and children under five are admitted free. For more information, call the Arc at 256-355-6192.
