Funeral service for Mary L. Asherbranner, 49, will be Wed., Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at Danville Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Bailey officiating.

Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tue., Dec. 27, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Asherbranner died on Sun., Dec. 25, 2011 at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1962, in Morgan County to Milton Clear Chaney and Frances “Joyce” (Harris) Chaney. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. She was employed at Calhoun College for a little over 30 years. She touched so many lives with her loving heart. She attended Danville Baptist Church her entire life and will be truly be missed. She and her husband, Jimmy, were married for 29 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Clear Chaney; a brother, Jimmy Chaney; and a sister, Suzanne Chaney.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Asherbranner of Danville; a son, James “Logan” Asherbranner and wife Sara of Danville; her mother, Frances “Joyce” (Harris) Chaney of Moulton; a brother, Gary Chaney and wife Jalena of Moulton; two sisters, Janie C. McVay and husband Roger of Decatur and Nancy Sartin and husband Brian of Danville; two grandchildren, Mason Travis Asherbranner and Brayden Clear Asherbranner.

Pallbearers will be Adam Waldrop, Jacob Chaney, Adam Patterson, Joshua Hogan, Ben Hogan, Daniel Hogan and Jason Asherbranner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Sartin and Brodie Waldrop.
