Graveside service for Freedus Mae Atwood Posey, 81, of Decatur was Mon., Dec. 26, at 12:15 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Chris Anderson and Jacob Chandler officiating.

Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

Ms. Posey died Dec. 23, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born May 16, 1930, in McCarr, Ky., daughter of the late Nathan and Mary Atwood. She was a homemaker and a member of the Elks Lodge Women’s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Posey; two sons, Tommy Posey and Michael Posey; and son-in-law Jimmy R. Watson.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie P. Watson and Teresa P. Anderson; daughter-in-law, Patsy B. Posey; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gideons.
