Funeral for Billie McClain Tucker, 75, was Sun., Nov. 27, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Earl Holt officiating.

Burial was in Center Cemetery.

Mrs. Tucker died Thur., Nov. 24, 2011, at her residence. She was born Mar. 24, 1936, in Winston County to Ernest McClain and Effie Legg McClain. A resident of Decatur for 36 years, she was retired from the U.S. Army Civilian Service and the recipient of a number of awards. She spent her last night sitting at her bedside listening to her boys play their guitars and sing. She has found peace and that is what helps the family get through the experience of losing their mentor, model and mom. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jonathan Crowe and Michael Anthony Crowe; and a brother, James Ernest McClain.

She is survived by three sons, Christopher Crowe, Coy Patrick Crowe and Billy Wyman Crowe; three daughters, Vickie Sims, Anzolette Mitchell and Jamesina Ferniano; a brother, Donald McClain; a sister, Rhonda Simmons; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons.
