Funeral for Malcolm H. “Mac” Staggs, 76, of Decatur will be Thur., Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating.

Visitation will be Wed., Nov. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery.

Mr. Staggs died Mon., Nov. 14, 2011, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Colbert County to Raymond Staggs and Nell Jewel Green Staggs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Staggs, his parents and two brothers, Pete Staggs and Clyde Staggs.

He is survived by a daughter, Judy Staggs Legg and husband Arnold of Hartselle; six brothers, Chuck Staggs of Athens, James Staggs of Savannah, Tenn., Ray Staggs and Mike Staggs, both of Decatur, Rufus Staggs of Town Creek and Thomas L. Staggs of Somerville; five sisters, Billie Seagle and Marie Scott, both of Decatur, Mary Arnold of Hartselle; Faye Clayton of Killen and Nell Thompson of Tuscumbia; two surviving grandchildren, Amy Shockley and Jennifer Murcks; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Terrie Hill.

Nephews will be pallbearers.
