Funeral for Ernest Glenn Johnston, 87, will be Mon., Nov. 13, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Larkin officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

Mr. Johnston died Fri., Nov. 11, 2011, at his residence. He was born Dec. 24, 1923, in Morgan County to Ernest Ditzler Johnston and Amy Ruth Grubbs Johnston. He was a member of Florette Church of Christ and was retired from Wolverine Tube after more than 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII who served aboard LSTs and the U.S.S. Ulysses in the Pacific Theater.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Cozene Day; a son, James Keith, an infant son, and a brother, James David Johnston.

He is survived by two sons, Ernie Kaman Johnston and wife Beth of Pittsburgh Penn. and Kenneth Day Johnston and wife Susan of Somerville; a daughter, Glenna Cozenne Winton and husband Vaughn of Somerville; 11 surviving grandchildren, Erby Shawn Johnston, Erica Shay Kilgore and husband Tim, Jennifer Johnston Marron and husband Michael, Jessica Ruth Hayes and husband Sam, Jodie Kaman Johnston, Scarlett Michelle Kirby and husband Alan, Christopher Vaughn Winton and wife Hope, Patrick Glenn Winton and wife Halley, Shelley Maze Kirby and husband Cary, Panda Nicole Smith and husband Nicholas and Stacey Maze Lovette and husband Rodrick; 20 great grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Tim Kilgore, Glenn Winton, Chris Winton, Jared Winton, Cary Kirby, Rod Lovett and Nicholas Smith.
