A memorial service for Darrell Trammell, 67, of Decatur will be Thurs., Nov. 3, at 5 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with Father Joe Sanderson officiating. There will be a reception immediately following for all family and friends.

Mr. Trammel died Sun., Oct. 30, 2011, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Feb. 1, 1944, in Cullman County to Ernest Lee Trammell and Nailie Lee (Doss) South. He was one of the founding members of the St. Barnabas Parrish and remained a member. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Decatur #653. He served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1963 until January 1967 and was AIC E-4 when discharged. He was an honorary envoy of Alpha Alpha Beta Sigma Phi, enjoyed fishing, snorkeling and loved the Auburn tigers and the Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Trammell and an infant son, Brent Trammell.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Sue Trammell of Decatur; a daughter, Monica Brewer and husband Curtis of Cleveland, Tenn.; his parents, Lee Doss South of Hartselle and Lewis South of Hartselle; three brothers, Garry Trammell of Trussville and Randy Hardin and Doug South, both of Decatur; three sisters, Kathy South Gonzalaz Humberto of Tampa, Fla., and Melody Moore and Tina Anderson, both of Gardendale; three surviving grandchildren, Clancy Brewer, Sloane Brewer and Braxton Brewer; and one great-grandchild, Azalie Mae Raines.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Barnabas Church or your favorite charity.
